Culturally responsive, clinically informed, therapy for ALL
Frequently asked questions
- 01I work in-person on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. I split time between two office spaces - one in West Edmonton (Mayfield) and another close to downtown (124th street).
- 02The initial consultation is our chance to get to know each other and ask questions. I will get to know what brings you to therapy, share what sessions will look like, and together we determine whether we both feel if it is a good fit moving forward! Questions I may ask: “Do you have any previous experiences with therapy?” "What are some goals you'd like to work on?" “How will we know if therapy is successful?” This is your chance to connect before a first session, so don't be afraid to be yourself.
- 03- Relationship difficulties - Job/Work/School Stress - Anxiety - Self discovery/feeling direction-less - Cultural and Racial identity and experience - Career and life transitions - Self Esteem Issues - Trauma If you do not see your need here but would still like to connect, feel free to reach out and I'd be happy to explore a referral for you!
- 04The cost per 50-53 minute session is $160/session. I do hold a few sliding scale spots at times for the uninsured or those unable to meet this - reach out if that is your situation!
- 05Yes! At this time I can direct bill Alberta Blue Cross, Non-Insured Health Benefits Program (NIHB), Sunlife, Greenshield, Medavie, Dejardins, Manulife, Peoples, Canada Life and many other insurances. If I can't direct bill, I will provide a receipt you may submit to your insurance. I would encourage you to double check with your insurance to verify the amount covered!
- 06While Edmonton is home and where I can meet in-person, I am currently licenced to serve Alberta, British Columbia and Ontario residents.
- 07You may pay by e-transfer or credit card and will be provided with a receipt. For Alberta Blue Cross, Canada Life, Greenshield, Manulife EHB holders, direct billing may be an option.
- 08This can depend on your need and availability! In situations more urgent and crisis oriented, typically weekly or bi-weekly is standard. If life for you is a bit more steady, less frequent is definitely an option!
